Fish Fry Proceeds To Be Used Towards The Purchase Of A Wheelchair Conversion Van For Kevin Bell

There was a fish fry with proceeds benefiting Kevin and Jackie Bell on Sunday, April 5th.  Kevin, son of Dean Bell and Dona Bell, has been seriously ill since returning from military duty in Iraq and has been hospitalized in Seattle, Washington since December.  Kevin and Jackie are expecting their first child in June.    Donations are still being accepted.   Checks can be made out to First United Methodist Church and place Kevin Bell in the memo area.   The meal was prepared by friends of the Bell family and was organized by Keith Patterson.  In March, the United Methodist Men operated a concession stand at a local farm machinery auction with the proceeds going to Kevin and Jackie.   A total of $21,250 was raised by the two events.

Kevin and I heard about the great success of the Fish Fry held in DeWitt, Arkansas over the weekend.  After reports from both Dona and Dean, Kevin was really quiet.  I asked him how he felt about that, and he very honestly told me he didn't know that so many people loved him.  It's more than the donations, you know, it's that you all have come together in a way that has touched us both very deeply.  I viewed the photos on the First United Methodist Church's web site, and what brought me to tears was seeing all the volunteers cooking and boxing and everything.  Thank you all so much for loving us and praying for us.
